Change Your Life for You, Not Them

Change Your Life for You, Not Them

At last, it’s here, right in front of you, the life you want, but you start to feel a pit in your stomach. What could it be? Fear. Doubt. Your head starts to fill with noise, am I good enough? Can I truly do this? What will my friends and family think or say? I’m already been doing this for so long, it feels comfortable and so on and so on. This noise continues in your mind until it breaks down your courage and self-confidence and you are back to waking up and doing the same thing day after day. STOP!

As I write this, I’m currently turning the last page of what has seemed like a novel, a novel that has been filled with excitement, opportunity, growth, and experiences. Yet, I was doing the same thing every day and felt I was losing sight of my childhood dreams. I had to look hard in the mirror and decide within myself to make a change. A change for me and no one else. This next novel or chapter as many called it, will be 100% what I create, from the title to every word. It took me a while to get here and you can too! Forget what people say that it will be beyond stressful and a long time before you’re able to pursue your dreams. It starts now and it can be what you make it, fun, exciting and here when you want it. Let’s do this!

1. Trust Yourself and the Path

Trust, it’s such a small word that holds an immense amount of meaning. You learn to trust yourself before you can even comprehend what trust means.  When you first attempted to walk, your body trusted that your legs would move and safely make it to your parent’s open arms. As we get older, we experience times where we have been let down and our trust in people becomes jaded. As life presents us with new opportunities our little voice inside sometimes creates self-doubt and we don’t trust in the process. Regaining trust in yourself and your dreams start with you and the changes you make. Start by reminding yourself that you’ve got this and see your dreams unfold right in front of you. With the recent changes I’ve made, I have started to remind myself each day trust this path that I’ve created.

2. Push Aside the Fear

As a little girl, my imagination went to the farthest depths and I was fearless. If I wanted to jump across a stream I didn’t notice the sharp rocks or how deep the water was, I backed up, jumped as hard as I could and went for it. Fear is a simple word yet has created many complications. Many experiences have been left undone and things left unsaid because of fear. The fear of getting hurt, taking a chance, worrying about what others will think or say. All these fears have hindered my growth. This year I’m focusing on making the word growth have a significant impact on my life. Taking chances that I never would, that I would waste time pondering over instead of going for it. I refuse to let fear dictate my life! Pushing through my own fears builds new paths and allows my dreams to come to light.

3. Block Out the Noise

Every leader or creator goes through doubt and questioning from the individuals that are the closest to them as well as spectators. However, for most, this is what pushes them to greatest. Many times we can be our own worst enemies by allowing the noise of others take over our ambitions. If you’re not aware of the power of your mind and your thoughts, it is very easy to get caught up in the negativity of others. This includes their doubts and questioning of the recent changes you have made in your life. It may not make sense to them as to why you quit your corporate, steady income job to take a chance on creating your own empire, remember it doesn’t matter what makes sense to them.

This is your life, your path, your dreams and ultimately your happiness. Take a moment, clear your mind and speak what you want and feel it, feel it deep down within your soul. One day all those people will come to you and want to know your secret to success and all the along the secret was you!

Let’s Do This!

Are you ready to make the necessary changes to achieve everything you’ve wanted?

Are you truly ready?

I hope you’re screaming yes at the top of your lungs because it’s your time right now! This life is what we make it, from when we wake up to the moment we lay our heads down to bed. Our minds and bodies configure our life’s steps and paths. Our wonderful, powerful minds feed us daily and it’s important that you fuel it with positivity and useful information. The actions that we take each day either helps us get one step closer to our goals or stuck in the same place we were yesterday.

So, are you ready to make some changes?

  • Fantastic! I loved this post. When attempting to make a change it is always best to have the motivation that comes from inside yourself. Outward motivation is so much harder to keep around, but when you self motivate, it is lasting motivation. Thanks for sharing!

  • I’m in that crossroad too, after deciding on a new career path. Well actually I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for the longest time and just went with what was there. Now I’m finally stepping up and working towards my goals. It’s not easy, and it takes a lot of hard work, but I’m ready 🙂

  • This is a wonderful post and it was much needed. I have been surrounded by negativity recently because of the people I work with. And this negativity makes me fearful and doubtful. But now, I want just push it aside and just do what I want to do because I know I can do it. It will be hard but I can do it.

    Thanks for the wonderful post!

  • What a great and inspirational post. Yes, it is in fact quite difficult to leave everything you know and start from the very beginning. But if you do not try you will never succeed. You will never know if you could succeed. That is why trying, doing your best and believing is the only way!
Thank you for the words of encouragement!

  • This was a great post to read! It’s so easy to let the negativity slow us down, but we have to move past it to become who we are meant to be. Thanks for sharing!

  • I love this sentence, “The actions that we take each day either helps us get one step closer to our goals or stuck in the same place we were yesterday.”

Something I live by and teach my clients is to aim for 1% improvement daily. That means doing one small task to move forward. It puts too much pressure to go out and think we have to climb a mountain right now. It’s easier when we break it down step by step and be present with that step rather than trying to live in the future.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • This is the path that I am on now. I am finally embracing a full in entrepreneurial experience, so that I can fulfill the purpose for my life. It took me a couple of years to get here, but I am not turning back. Thanks for speaking directly to my situation!

  • Thank you!
I made the realization a little over a year ago that I was more of a spectator in my life – I was letting things happen to me instead of making things happen. I was afraid, but I knew I need to make some BIG life changes in order to be happy. Thankfully, everyone around me was very supportive and understanding – including my (now ex) husband when I said I needed to leave.
Now I’m much happier. I’m making things happen. Life isn’t perfect (it never is), but I feel much more in control, and like I’m actually living my life!

  • Such a powerful post. I’ve only come to this realisation in the last year but it has made the most epic of impacts.
