April Goals Shining Through

Ok, so I know what you’re thinking, where did March go? One of the longest months seemed to vanished into the dust of a long endless highway. It’s all the way back there and look at how much further along you are in your journey. As I head into April, the sun is bright and shining down, illuminating my path. But first let’s recap March Goals for accountability and then dive into the positive changes for April.

March Recap

Read two books

If you read anything in the next year, this book is an absolute must! “You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life” by Jen Sincero. My head hurts from the amount of affirmative head nods made while reading this amazing book. As I said last month is that I want to work on standing up for myself and see my true greatness. Many times I put a lot of energy into pleasing others that I forget about myself.  I’m sure many of you out there may have felt the same way in your life and may  still be dealing with this, for it’s a learning process and takes time. I could go on and on about the differences this book as made to my personal growth as well as my personal relationships. The second book that I had picked out to read, “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, I started but didn’t finish in time for April. No excuses here.

Bring in April

Feeding My Mind

Last month’s read truly set the foundation for my April goals and most importantly the goals I want to achieve in my life. To continue with the self-growth and development this month’s books are “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and “Make It Happen” by Lara Casey. Although “Think and Grow Rich” was written in the 1930’s, it is still highly recommended to those who want to focus on their personal development and improvement. Focusing on developing and setting my mindset to exactly what I want from life and the person I want to be and at the same time mapping out the steps to achieve. “Make It Happen” is exactly what I need right now as it discusses making leaps in your life and encourages you to not give into self-doubt and sabotage. We all fear change and taking a chance with ourselves that we may hold ourselves back from our true potential. This book is a giant pep talk and motivational guide to setting purposeful goals, taking action and how to clear your doubts.

Healthy Lifestyle

Our cruise in now a month away and that means to kick the healthy lifestyle into gear! I’m going to keep this goal the same for this month with a couple of edits. My diet is going to continue to consist of make some modifications such as cutting back  on my favorites like pasta, bread and sweets. I’m sure you always hear about cutting these completely out of your diet when you look up the latest trend online on how to lose weight. I say you don’t need to remove all of your favorites from your life, just limit what you have and how much. So my goal is instead of having my favorites twice a week, having them once every two weeks. Continuing with the food category, I’m going to say a word that many of you may not incorporate into your daily lives, breakfast.  I’ve never been one for breakfast except when we wake up early and go to the local diner or decide to make breakfast in bed. With that being said, my goal is incorporate a healthy breakfast into my morning routine, whether it’s fresh fruit bowl or some scrambled eggs. Second, exercise! There is a nice new Fitbit hanging out on my dresser that I’ve only used a couple of times. This little baby has been underutilized for far too long. So I’m going to reinstall the amazing app and get that exercising reminder on my wrist. To get my steps going, we plan on incorporating exercise into our daily routine at least 4 times a week, whether it’s completing Jillian Michaels Kickboxing Video, hiking a nearby trail or going rock climbing.

Building the Empire

In March I surprised myself with my accomplishments and the growth that I was able to make in a short month. It was the first month that I set goals for my business and I crushed almost all of them! Yay happy dance! So this month I’m going to be aggressive and ambitious with my numbers.
